DON'T BE AFRAID!! Lol!
Why are black women so afraid to go with out relaxers??? lol! I hear these 3 comments all the time, "Oh my hair is too nappy", "Your texture of hair is better than mine" or "I just can't do it". I use to say the same thing! So when I hear it, I always get amp! YES, YOU CAN!
For someone thats been getting relaxers all their life, I have to admit it takes some adjusting. But I want to show you the change is for the better! I want to help educate african-american women to gain healthy long hair because I would never put a relaxer in my hair ever again! My hair is the strongest its ever been.
Here is my simple hair care regimen:
NO relaxers
I do not flat iron my hair regularly. I flat iron my hair 3 times this year Nov. 3, Aug 30, and Jan 14
I do not shampoo weekly, I co-wash (washing with conditioner) weekly
I use shampoo once a month
I oil my hair daily with a body/hair oil
I spray water on my hair daily
I use a satin pillowcase
Even if you are a person that do not like your kinky hair, you can still do without a relaxer and just straighten your hair with some hair serum and flat iron and achieve the same affect. Weekly flat irons are still damaging but not as much as doing both relaxer and flat ironing.

ReplyDeleteCan you please do a video showing how you do a twist out? Mine look horrible...
ReplyDeleteOk! I will post one this weekend.
DeleteI would love it would post what products you are using in your hair... I currently have a sew in now and will probably be taking it out soon... Im contemplating getting a relaxer or not... Did you have to cut all your relaxed her off and start over when you started going natural???
ReplyDelete*I would love it if you would (typo, I got a lil too excited :)
DeleteNo, I did not cut off my hair. I just started doing twist outs and using sponge rollers to curl the ends and it blends very well so I didnt cut. Im going to show a video of this so dont cut yet! Now, Im not saying you dont have to cut because some ppl have different textures and depending on the texture your hair, you may have to cut because you will be able to tell the difference.
